Dear Friends and Visitors,

As the snow gently falls in Mount Shasta two weeks before Christmas and one day into the Chanukah celebration of light, I take pause in this remarkable journey that is life, to wish you all the most love-filled holiday season.

It is also an excellent time to look back at the year nearly passed. We are collectively still moving through an economic crisis that, for many of us, has been a wake-up call to reorganize and take care of our own communities. A vibrant movement towards growing and living locally is underway all around the world as we see the fault lines in the systems that serve only the corporations and Wall Street. Grassroots is where it's at and if governments expect the old status quo to re-establish itself, I feel they will be very much surprised. That is due to the concomittant collapse of the middle class, which has actually been happening for a long time as former administrations and ruling parties pursued corporate favor. The vast majority of us are now on to it. I like to keep informed about economics and social change by reading Yes! Magazine, real quality and the best of intent. Check it out if you like. Let's intend the kind of abundance that flows to and from open hearts, open minds and peaceful communties as this new year unfolds!

My own work has shifted according to new directives written about here in July. I am leaving that portion of my last letter at the end of this updating as it is important and needs to remain on this page. In addition to a long-standing interest in community building, I have been drawn over the last 3 years to investigate and understand at many levels the development of children. It feels like the most important work on the planet right now - conscious child bearing and raising. In two generations, the world could be completely changed if consciously parented our children. This interest has drawn to me those with young families, children in the womb, children awaiting conception, children lost in the system, and teachers and parents who want to take action. Like all of us, children are body, soul and spirit, and all must be nurtured. I love this aspect of the work and feel very privileged to have so many little ones in my life to help me understand what needs to me done. I am beginning to put together a book - Raising the Rainbow Body Kids - that will address many aspects of conscious parenting. First and foremost is for parents to become conscious themselves. I feel this book will be a joy to create with my many helpers and will not likely take forever to get in print (my apologies to those awaiting the Priestess and the Magus, which relinquishes the "next up" spot joyfully for the children.

In Shasta, I am working towards year-round food production but have a long way to go. Reading Eliot Coleman's books this winter is teaching much how little I know about even growing veggies! Yet it was a great garden this year and I include an aerial view of the main garden in November from the top of a nearby cedar tree that needed to come down. Thanks go to arborist Brian Santos for the photo.

As garden evolution goes, I am looking at a series of cold frames this coming year followed by a greenhouse (hopefully moveable on sliders) the following year. How much can one do on an acre of land? Just about everything needed to eat well (soon to be biodynamically) for a lifetime. It is a blessing to have this land for such a consummate hobby. Having an old house means finding the balance with upkeep and upgrades as they come along. I am already going through my seeds and planning for next year's crops.

I am in the midst of preparing myself for my trip overseas at the beginning of March 2010. I will have with me a powerpoint presentation for a series of Parent's Nights as I move through Australia and New Zealand. I feel that one reason conscious parenting is fallen by the wayside of big screen televisions and computer-based game entertainment is the lack of information as to how these modern inventions affect the development of our children - and adult potential as well. The presentation correlates human evolution with child development from the perspective of the brain. It also includes the Rainbow Body aspect of development, so the Big Picture of why we are here and why our culture doesn't get it. Our schools are damaging to proper brain development and, more importantly, to the emotional stability of those who will be the future generations. I feel this aberration has already been dramatically presented to us by Wall Street's loose cannons (I borrow loose cannons from Joseph Chilton Pierce's The Biology of Transcendence) who brought down the financial systems worldwide. I hope these Parent Night events will be well attended, especially by the partners who will be home with the children of those attending the workshops.

As that project matures, I will also be organizing material for the esoteric/sun mysteries segments of the Awakening workshops and retreats, with a theme of life after death, life before birth, and life in deep sleep. These three states, though singular in their experience, are all related. This will be a good introductory exploration of the astral or soul world. How that world expresses and evolves in this reality will also be discussed. A little challenging? Yes, but what is life without challenge and growth.

Blessings of the Season and the New Year to each of you,

Jessie

February 10. 2010: Recommended Reading: The Vegetarian Myth by Lierre Keith and Primal Body Primal Mind by Nora Gedgaudas - both books have impacted my own health and well being and started me on a, so far successful, course of rejuvenation, the key to which is getting straight about carbohydrates, learning to use healthy fats as fuel instead, and reverse the glycation that carbohydrates steadily cripples us with in the form of degnerative disease. I will be including a nutrition segment in my open workshops from now on.

February 25, 2010: The aftermath of a serious ultra-wet 4 feet of snow in Mt Shasta Jan 20 is ongoing. Trees are down everywhere and a number on my land still in need of cutting up for firewood and hauling branches off to be burned. It is an awesome mess even then to look forward to as I return end of April. We had considerable damage to the barn where the books are stored though they are fine, both my house roof and Emma's cottage. Most fixed up with insurance and new barn roof on the way. So many trees came down out front I now have a mountain view. They say once in a 100 years but I say this el nino is a trend of climate change. We will see who is right!

I am leaving for Australia on Monday with a 75 slide presentation though I will pare it down for the parent nights. I am realizing that this whole presentation is the outline for the book on raising rainbow body kids and I will include it section by section in the Awakening Open Workshops. Since we are considering our own childhoods as we work in circle it is quite appropriate to contemplate these truths and recent research about children. I have also had a request for more child-oriented shamanic journeys. Good idea, Emmi, Alison's 10 year old who likes to fly with the fairies. I reckon that Nel's Akasha is the one behind the kid's book, so thanks to this little one just up on two legs recently and also just turned 1. Her mum, Nel, has started a blog for those doing the Awakening work worldwide. It is invitation only so you can run your request to join by me and I will pass it on to Nel who will invite you.

Below is the timeless message of July 2009.

It feels to me like this energy is here to stay. We have reached a moment in our evolution when the choices we make are, consciously or unconsciously, as much for humanity as for ourselves. Humanity needs the Earth to continue its evolutionary journey and the Earth needs humanity to complete this part of her journey. We are in this together. Every decision we make, no matter how insignificant, must embrace this consciousness. What part of technology can we embrace and what part is not sustainable? When we purchase an item at the grocery store or the big box store, for example, what impact does it have on Mother Earth? Where did it come from? What was the impact on the planet as a result of its creation and transport to you? Does the work that we do support the Earth and human evolution? This is higher consciousness on an everyday level. It does no good to reserve this consciousness for moments of setting good intentions. It must be embodied, lived moment to moment, felt in the heart, brought forth from the soul.

This is the moment of truth. Truth is the only way forward. Thus being able to discern the truth becomes the highest of priorities. We can imagine this moment of truth as a fork in the road where "he who hesitates is lost" applies. Truth, as a feeling, guides the choice. We have needed this critical time, and even economic hardship, to re-evaluate what we hold dear, to re-commit to our spiritual work as the highest priority, and to strive for soul consciousness - what the Awakening and Healing the Rainbow Body coursework regards as Astral Mastery. That mastery moves our consciousness fully into soul.

Having managed to shake off an oppressive lethargy that slowly crept over me these last two weeks, I recognize this attempt to derail mission. With that lifting, the truth shines through. We are entering the era when the Warriors of Truth and Light can no longer observe from the sidelines. Consciousness must happen. It is time to call forth the Sisterhood and Brotherhood of the Sun in earnest to stand together as a soul-conscious community committed to the mission of human spiritual evolution. Over the years of my teaching and traveling, a weaving of this community has slowly progressed. We have a core group around the world who have steadily worked at self-mastery. I feel deeply committed to this group and ask them to hold a space of community love as the call goes forth to find those on the planet who "feel" a vital part of this mission.

As much as we need to create a space of love in the world, we need to know what we are up against. Without truth, we are powerless because we cannot discern. With truth we can engage mission without the doubt that otherwise shadows heart engagement. There are many of the Sisterhood and Brotherhood on the planet at this time. Some know who they are but most have not awakened to their true soul connections. Even those who have worked tirelessly at self-mastery on behalf of human evolution can feel isolated and unsupported on the planet. Additionally, at any stage of spiritual growth we can experience manipulation by a variety of invasive consciousnesses.

This provokes me to reorganize the nature of my work in circle with all those called to self-mastery. The Awakening and Healing the Rainbow Body coursework stands on its own. It is every bit as powerful a path to spirit as any hidden or revealed mystery school teachings. Perhaps it is more powerful in that its shamanic elements do not ignore the impact of the first three chakras. This coursework will remain the core of the self-mastery work. What will change is how one enters that path. Wisdom now dictates that the Rainbow Body coursework is not a place to sort out whether or not this path speaks to you. It is a space in which to heal your life, raise your consciousness, and move forward toward soul awareness and community.

And so it makes sense that, firstly, the call must go out in such a way the people can easily sort out their affinity for the work. Many are already called to this work through The Lineage of the Codes of Light and The Brotherhood of the Magi. Unfortunately, working at mastering our lives hasn't as much appeal as the dream of the achieved mastery exemplified in these two books. The truth is we cannot be in that mastery unless we actually master our lives. If we are carrying light codes of consciousness, we will likely have them activated reading the books. That is why I wrote the books and I highly recommend that activation. However, activating the codes and being able to access their gifts can be liken to your physical self and your soul positioned on opposite sides of a chasm with no bridge between. The coursework is the bridge. To succeed with this path to self-mastery clearly requires more than ego/personality-engagement, though that engagement is necessary. When the soul connects with truth, distraction falls away. As Spider Woman so wisely said to White Shell Woman when she became dismayed by the work of self-mastery, "What else have you to do with your life?" Really!

I recall Alice Bailey's use of the word "glamour" to describe the many distractions on the path. She would be bewildered at the industrial-strength level of distraction now, The commercial nature of the personality-based spiritual supermarket is virtually at our finger tips, assuming our fingers tips have access to a credit card number with security code. Discernment is, beyond a doubt, the most important lesson humanity is learning at the moment. One can spend years in the spiritual supermarket trying to fill a trolley with truth - and it hurts to be deceived. we cannot afford the time it takes to get over such experiences. For so many good reasons, like this one, I am leaning towards a little truth-based spiritual fast food.

It feels right and good to leave the coursework to those who recognize and answer the call. We can do this as open circles that embrace community rather than hierarchy. The spiritual fast food feature will be an introductory workshop. All those attracted to this work, for whatever reason, will transit through this powerful workshop to hear and "feel" the truth of life - and possibly heed the call to self-mastery. The content of the workshop will be the truth, which is at the core of light code activation. Part of the weekend will be a right here-right now approach to understanding our lives. It will be a spiritual adventure - a two-day intensive sharing of key teachings from the Sun Mysteries that is bound to move energy for everyone regardless of their choice to continue in the coursework or not. An attendees life is all they need to bring to the workshop, along with an openness that allows the truth to move through their fields accessing their soul and the willingness to let the soul express itself through their heart-felt feelings. The person they are after the workshop, the person they are becoming, can then make a choice about this coursework or another beneficial path for their soul's consciousness. Experience does warn that once activated by truth, one must act. There can be no comfortable return to the old self.

Please see the Events page for details of this new introductory program, Light Code Activation; The Sun Mysteries Intensive. I might add that acting through self-study using the Companion Guide for the coursework is a good alternative to attending an open circle if you are unable to make it to a circle. I will now be offering consulting sessions by phone or email for those who are working with the workbook and need direct input from me. See details on the new Consultation page. Perhaps technology can serve us internationally with voice computer sessions.

That brings me to the gourmet goodies part of this treatise - the retreats. These are opportunities for those of us committed to this path to be in community together for three or four full days of growth, sharing, play and love. Since community is what soul consciousness tends to want to create, these events are truly gourmet. Attendance will remain limited to committed coursework participants who will occasionally be called upon to let their talents shine forth on behalf of the group.

Much love and peace your way,
Jessie
