Heart of the Sun The Moment of Death

The Moment of Death

by Jessie Ayani PhD

The sorcerers live their entire lives focused steadily and calmly on the moment of their death. What do the sorcerers mean by that and how do we translate that to a culture that is not prepared for the moment of death regardless of when it occurs? Theirs is not a morbid preoccupation. It is a mandate for consciousness in every moment of life. It is to be fully present in your life as you live it. It is to be more alive than you can imagine, but also to be fearless, accepting, and accountable. Above all, it is to be a bold opportunist.

For us, the difference between an unconscious death and a conscious death is the difference between the continuation of the cycles of karma in the lower astral and liberation from those cycles in the upper astral. It defines an important ascension step. The sorcerers are seeking power and immortality in the fourth dimension. We are in search of the portal to the fifth dimension. Though our agendas may differ we are all opportunists. Both outcomes require that the past and future fall away as they encumber us at the moment of potential liberation.

This is all a bit challenging for a culture that refuses to engage death before it inevitably happens. As young people we are recklessly immortal. This moves on to denial as we begin realizing we cannot go on forever. Then, as we enter or elder years, we are often lost in the reflections that haunt us or define us, as if they were gradually gaining importance over the mundane. In fact, they are. Those reflections are organizing in our field to become, at the moment of death, our life review. Accountability wins out over denial in the end.

The agenda of the sorcerers gives them power over predatory energy and sets them up against the sorts of dramas that power over the lower astral would imply. Their immortality must be achieved from third dimension as a dematerialization into thought field. That is ascension from this life to the next frequency. However, as an option, I am left feeling less than enthused by it.

Leaving the sorcerers to their agenda, let us look at our own options. If we are conscious/present at the moment of death, free of our past and future, we can use the life force retained in conscious death to reconnect with our souls. The whole point of Awakening and Healing the Rainbow Body is to take that conscious death step in life. Let us reconnect with our souls now. Moving beyond fearlessness and acceptance, let us take the opportunity to die to our old selves and live an upper astral life. With our conscious death assured, rather than focusing on the moment of death, we can focus on the joy of each moment lived.

This death-in-life also opens the door to further ascension through the living of a super-conscious life right now. That higher self life is one of soul purpose, connection with others, and mission. Reaction yields to compassion. Information yields to creative imagination. It is a life in the hanaqpacha of the Andean myths where the past and future have fallen away and time is no longer linear. It is the world of higher consciousness.

Some people call ours the microwave culture or the fast-food generation. From a medical perspective, quick fix is an appropriate cultural tag. We want to have things fast, easy and pain-free. In the spiritual work, the cultural attitudes separate the wheat from the chaff in no time at all. Within the cultural attitudes, we can find two of the most troubling hindrances to higher consciousness and consequently two of the greatest challenges for those of us seeking the super-conscious state, the longing for a quick fix and the need to numb.

As you may have gathered, there is no quick fix at the moment of death. The only way to be free of a distracting life review (that accountability thing again) is to have properly recapitulated your life prior to the moment of death. The only way to be poised for an ascension step at the moment of death is to have a reality (based on core beliefs) compatible with that higher frequency. The only way to surrender completely at the moment of death is to have abandoned the programs of the lower astral intellect. Using our three tools to live a conscious life is preparation for a conscious death. It is simple expansion of awareness, no bells and whistles, no dramas, no ego aggrandizement.

What is amazing is the number of techniques out there in the supermarket of spirituality and personal growth that offer a quick fix. Well, maybe it isn’t amazing. Maybe it is just the natural adaptation of psychology-based techniques to mainstream self-improvement programs. The goal of psychology is to move the client past trauma, depression, anxiety, etc. to a more productive and satisfying life. No one would argue that that is helpful. Techniques are continually being developed to help people move on by tricking the brain. Not a single one of them actually liberates a person from that past at the moment of death. That isn’t the goal of psychology. It is uncommon to consider such a goal outside the realms of sorcery or mysticism (admittedly strange bedfellows).

Our need to numb (distraction) is extreme. It does not exactly support the expectations many have of a large-scale ascension for humanity. It does not even meet the Buddhist expectation of joyful participation in the suffering of the world. It precludes participation and is a poor excuse for joy. What it does engender is a lot of complacency. Complacency does not exist in the upper astral. Lower astral predatory energy thrives on it though. This need to numb has everything to do with alienation from our souls, higher selves, and God, which is all that we long for.

For the most part, our programs for addiction treatment take the quick fix tract to a more productive life. They do not explore our relationships with the spirits of substance, predatory energy, the roots of the need, and our longing for the bliss that comes with God-realization. Again, band-aids may help us function, but they do not liberate us from that neediness.

At this precarious stage of our relationship with the Earth, we cannot afford complacency. The need to be conscious has never been greater. It is time to live with the kind of accountability that transcends the moment of death. It is time to build a conscious community that is progressively spiritual, all encompassing in its vision, and green to the core. Where does that begin? With you.
